FIRE PROTECTION MAINTENANCE
Our fully qualified technical service team provides Australian Standard 1851 and Australian Standard 2293 service to all facets of fire protection equipment located on your site.

• Fire Blankets
• Exit and Emergency Lighting
• Sprinkler Systems

• Early Warning Intercommunication System
 

We provide a refilling service at our service at our site for high-pressure equipment or, on your site for other equipment.

All fire protection eqiupment maintenance is carried out to the relevant Australian Standard with works performed being recorded and signed by our service technician and your occupant/staff member for verification.
We guarantee all work against faulty workmanship or parts.





FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION

We provide fire safety education to enable participants to gain an understanding of Fire Safety Awareness in the workplace, and the steps to follow on discovery of fire. Knowledge will also be gained on Fire Prevention practices and the Acts and Regulations governing the training.

Courses will include instruction or relevant aspects of the Australian Standard 3745 on Emergency Procedures. Through this training, participants wil increase their confidence in dealing with Fire and Emergency situations.

 
Content includes: • OH & S Act, Australian Standard 3745 and Duty of Care requirements

• Good Housekeeping Practices

• Fire Awareness includes Triangle of Fire, Classes of Fire, Methods of Extinguishment

• Fire Spread, Dangers of heat and smoke.

• Fire Protection and Life Safety equipment installed in the building

• Emergency Response and Evacuation Procedures

• Correct and safe use of installed fire protection equipment

• Practical use of fire protection equipment supplied by Northern Fire in a live fire demonstration.

• Correct and safe use of Fire Hose Reels and Fire Blankets explained in detail
 
We also provide specialist training for: • Fire Wardens

• Evacuation

 
Other Fire Safety Principles:

• Preparation and Design of Emergency Plans, based on Australian Standard 3745 Section 2

• Preparation of Emergency Procedure Manuals and Emergency Equipment Location Plans

• Supply of Standard Fire Orders

• Supply of Warden Identification helmets


FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION

Northern Fire Equipment Service personnel are fully versed in Australian Standard 2444 Selection and Location of fire protection equipment, which enables them to provide on the spot advice, and also the knowledge of what type of fire equipment is required to provide hazard protection in the workplace.

Our Service Technicians carry  a large range of fire extinguishers, fire blankets and signage. They are able to provide clients with specific products, which are then fit for their intended purpose and are in strict conformance with Australian and International Standards. This service includes the installation and commissioning of the same, to Australian Standard 2444.


FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT CERTIFICATION

Our Maureen O'Connor is a registered Building Practitioner in accordance with Part II of the Building Act 1993, and is fully qualified to inspect and test fire protection equipment and provide certification in accordance with part E of the Building Code of Australia.

Northern Fire is also qualified to carry out Building's fire-main Hydrostatic Testing and Pump Flow Testing in accordance with Australian Standard 2419.1 Section 7.

She is also carries out Fire Protection Equipment Systems Design


FIRE PROTECTION AUDITS, REPORTS AND ESSENTIAL SERVICES REPORT
Northern Fire Equipment Service has fully experienced personnel available to inspect fire protection equipment and Building Control Commission Essential Services requirements, and provide written reports to ensure compliance with the statutory regulations.


DANGEROUS GOODS
We can provide specialist information for the storage of Hazardous Chemicals including HAZCHEM and Composite Warning notices, Flammable Liquid Cabinets and your Duty of Care requirements.


SIGNAGE
Northern Fire Equipment Service has a large range of standard signs and can provide custom signage to suit your individual needs.


FIRST AID KITS
A large range of First Aid Kits is available. Made from materials such as quality modern plastics, fabrics and powder coated steel. All kits comply with legislative standards required in Victoria and are listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia.
